Superheroines of the Night: Miranda Cosgrove and Malim Akerman

But don’t worry, you didn’t miss the big show (that’s next Sunday). No, Primetime Creative Arts Emmy Awards were presented Saturday and a proper red carpet accompanied the event. Game of Thrones won big with six statues for all that behind the scenes magic that makes the on screen magic pop. I’m still mad that Lena Heady wasn’t recognized with an acting nom, but at least the costumes won. The Creative Arts Emmy win I’m happiest for is Outstanding Children’s Program Wizards Of Waverly Place (Disney Channel). It was outstanding and I miss it. Also standing out:

Miranda Cosgrove is this adorably funky dress. I love the dress and love the shoes with it. The make-up looks heavy-handed but it might just be the glare of the sun. All in all, cute and reads as a twist on Zatanna.

And then there’s Malim Akerman in this wholly heroine chic look that only someone like her pulls off. I would actually love to see this dress in a color — the black is a little heavy, but it does make that red clutch pop. But I do like the heroine chicness (more than I liked Watchmen tbh).
