Khaleesi Chic featuring Diane Kruger
Posted: May 17, 2012 Filed under: Event Fashion, Red Carpet Fashion | Tags: cannes, daenerys targaryen, diane kruger, game of thrones Leave a comment »Daenerys Targaryen is my favourite character in the HBO series Game of Thrones. She crept up on me when I first watched season one. I started out loving Arya (still love Arya) but then Dany started doing things I would do as every character I have ever played in any fantasy role-playing game ever. She’s a character I could have come up with and she’s the character I love. Thus I am working on my own Ready-to-Wear Daenerys look to wear at upcoming conventions, ren faires and the like. I follow a bunch of tumblrs dedicated to Game of Thrones Style and Daenerys has her own…maybe it was my crowded dash but when I saw Diane’s first two Cannes festival looks, I thought: Khaleesi!

This is an AMAZING dress and she looks stunning in it. I called it Gladiator Chic when I pinned it and with different shoes it could be a comic book superheroine look as is. Diane continues to be my ultimate fashion superhero.
My Little Pony At the (Met) Gala!

Or as the ponies would say: BEST. NIGHT. EVER. Unlike other red carpet events, the Met Ball is about fashion. Fashion takes center stage, legitimately, and so we get:

Coco Rocha as a humanized My Little Pony. Humanizing the ponies in art and cosplay is a huge part of the Pony and Brony fandom (my family is planning it for an upcoming convention ourselves). But I never expected to see it so CLEARLY on the red carpet. Basically, Coco is my fashion hero FOREVER for this.

Although she’s in Fluttershy’s colors, she’s rocking Pinkie Pie’s attitude: this is MY party. But don’t worry, I found the other ponies.

My thoughts go like so:
1. Zomg!
2. But where’s Josh?
3. But but do you think Diane&Josh and Busy&Michelle have super fashionable dinner parties?
4. BECAUSE I WANT TO GO.
5. Charlie‘s Angels
Now let’s talk clothes.

Diane’s look says “King Karl practically raised me, Jason Wu is a BFF, I am a goddess and I know how to work it, everyone else can just go home, I win.”
Josh’s look says “Look at her. I win.”

Seriously people. Joshua Jackson, Diane Kruger, Jason Wu, and the Met. WE ALL WIN.
Interactive Wednesday: Kiss me, Batman

Just, you know, not so powerful, and with no training. Anyway, lately my chaos powers have been going crazy. For example: I, like many, like to cast my favourite characters and/or cast my favourite actors in my favourite stories. I’ve mentioned before that Naomi Watts and Diane Kruger are my top picks for my best Marvel heroine, Ms. Marvel, and I am infatuated with the idea of Katie Holmes as Jessica Jones. I’ve also been saying since the first of Christopher Nolan’s Bat films (which starred Katie Holmes) that I want to see Talia Al Ghul on the big screen.
Well.

Everybody has a few and face it, we’re only gonna keep getting more (until they start making cyber implants). But hey, gadgets are entirely Geek Chic:

Right?
I secretly like Megan Fox. She says too much, it endears her to me. So does the Star Wars shirt and the fact that she reads Gen 13.
Continuing the theme of starlets who purport to read comics, here’s Miley Cyrus and her gadget of choice:
Diane Kruger joins La Royale
Posted: June 1, 2010 Filed under: Event Fashion | Tags: diane kruger Leave a comment »She first came to worldwide notice as Troy‘s face that launched a thousand ships and this past weekend she launched one for Hugo Boss:

How adorable is this picture? I thought so. The GO is key. But now our Berlinele is joining the French Navy! Diane was recently cast in Special Forces; she will be playing a journalist kidnapped by the Taliban while in Afghanistan and as part of her preparation she will be training with the navy at Lorient, Brittany. The French navy confirmed Diane and her costars Benoît Magimel, Denis Ménochet, Djimon Hounsou, John Malkovich and Raphaël Personnaz are all expected to start training this week.

Pacey looks fab, I love his shoes. On someone else Diane’s dress would be a bit much, but her fashion attitude makes it work as I will show you in a moment. But first, here’s Joey and Tom:
Superheroines of the Night: Emmanuelle Béart and Diane Kruger (Cannes Closing II)
Posted: May 24, 2010 Filed under: Red Carpet Fashion | Tags: cannes, diane kruger, emmanuelle beart, superhero 1 Comment »Not all superheroines dress the same. There are a lot of skimpy bustier and miniskirt combinations, and the ubiquitous jumpsuits, and when in doubt look for tall boots and chunky bracelets. But sometimes heroine chic is simply a matter of character:

I’m not certain which character Emmanuelle Béart is best for — a new incarnation of Doctor Who or someone in Gotham are closest, I think — but she definitely comes off heroine chic. And thanks to accidental colour-coordination she has a perfect partner in crime-fighting in Diane Kruger:
