Princess of the Night: Lupita Nyong’o

Have you encountered Ever After High? It’s another line of dolls with webisodes and eventual DVD release tie-ins a la Monster High but instead of the children of famous monsters, they’re the children of famous fairy tale characters. Not to be confused with Descendants, the upcoming series and inevitable tie-in dolls about the high school age children of famous Disney villains. Anyway, in Ever After High the kids are divided into two cliques: Royals (the children of princesses like Snow White) and Rebels (the children of people who are not princesses like the Evil Queen, Red Riding Hood, and the Mad Hatter).

This year’s Academy Awards was full of royals and the ruler of them all was newly crowned Best Supporting Actress Lupita Nyong’o:

Badass of the Night: Evan Rachel Wood

Seriously now this TIFF weekend featured Angelina Jolie, Anna Faris, Megan Fox and Stacy Keibler — any and all of whom have been called badass by someone or another. Remember when Angie carried blood in a vial across borders? And Stacy was a legit member of the WWE. Someone or another, ymmv. But as you see if you clicked, all those looks were BORING. Spy Style: Angelina Jolie

Angie’s new spy thriller Salt lands in theaters this Friday, July 23, and last night she sparkled at the Red Carpet premiere in Los Angeles:

Very pretty, Angie. Armani, her old standard, and it suits her. Love that it shows off her legs and arms and love even more that she lets her hair fly free. She’s carrying herself like a movie star.

Pretty. Sparkly. Kinda boring. Diane’s black sequins were more memorable.
